Since 2001, the Foire aux Vins d'Uzès has become a showcase for the Gard's wine production. 54 carefully selected winemakers, accompanied by local bakery specialities such as Nougatine, Pécher Mignon and products from Boulangerie la Provençale, gather in Uzès to promote their products. The Foire aux Vins d'Uzès is an annual event celebrating local wines and producers. Held in the enchanting setting of Uzès, this event offers visitors the chance to taste a vast selection of wines, from intense reds to refreshing whites, not forgetting delicate rosés and naturally sweet wines.

The fair is more than just a showcase for the region's wines; it's also a privileged meeting place for producers and wine lovers. Nicknamed the "biggest wine fair in the Gard", the Uzès Wine Fair offers a wide range of events, including the prize-giving ceremony for the wine competition, commented tastings of the winning wines, events organized by the Uzès Lions Club, and a musical parade of the Bachiques brotherhoods. An auction of the fair's wines is also organized, with proceeds going to the charities of the Lions Club d'Uzès. Each edition is unique, always in collaboration with the town of Uzès and various local players.
Following tradition, the Compagnie du Du Duché plays a central role in the fair, leading a parade through the boulevards of Uzès to the Esplanade. The induction ceremony, famous for its centuries-old rites and traditions, plunges visitors into a medieval atmosphere, offering an immersive experience that seems to suspend time.

Practical information about the Foire aux Vins 2024 in Uzès

The Foire aux Vins 2024 in Uzès will take place on August 9, 10 and 11, 2024 on the Esplanade de Lattre de Tassigny, avenue de la Libération in Uzès. Friday August 9 from 11am to 9pm, Saturday August 10 from 10am to 8pm and Sunday August 11 from 10am to 6pm.

Admission is free, but you need to buy a glass to be able to taste the wines at the single price of €4.

How to get to the event

Uzès is easily accessible by car or public transport. Here are a few practical tips to help you organize your trip:

• By car: Uzès is about 45 minutes from Nîmes and an hour from Avignon. Parking is available close to the center. 
• By public transport: The nearest stations are Nîmes and Avignon. Buses run from these stations to Uzès.
