Introduction to the Terralha Festival

Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie is the undisputed capital of ceramics! In this internationally renowned pottery village, the Terralha Festival has been organized by the Cultural Office since 1984. Steeped in pottery traditions, culture, and heritage, the town adorns itself in the colors of Europe, earth, and fire through a dedicated ceramic trail.

The goal of this festival is to introduce "Terralha" (meaning "earthenware vessel") to a diverse audience, from amateurs to enthusiasts. Orchestrated by the Maison de la Terre, this event highlights the expertise of ceramic artists and offers a unique platform to admire exceptional and innovative works. Over the years, it has become a must-attend event for art lovers, collectors, and ceramic professionals.

The festival places a special emphasis on European ceramics, with the ambition of "bringing different forms of artistic and cultural expression in European ceramics closer together." The festival invites around twenty European ceramic artists to exhibit stunning installations in a town entirely dedicated to this art. The works are presented in unusual and private locations, transformed into ephemeral exhibition spaces for the occasion. Strolling through the streets of Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie, visitors can discover unique ceramic universes by stepping into shaded courtyards, lush gardens, or vaulted historic buildings. The originality of this festival lies in the unprecedented nature of its open-air exhibition spaces. A true artistic journey awaits you during this event, which has firmly established itself over time as a key event for ceramic art in Europe.
