Wine tour and vineyards of the Duchy ofUzès

Book your stay in Uzès !

From August to November, Uzège is a paradise for nature and heritage lovers. On foot, by bike or on horseback, let yourself be guided along the region's wine trails, breathe in the fragrant garrigue air and wander through the green hills where the vines of the Duchy ofUzès flourish. Here, hiking becomes a true wine tourism experience, where history, wine, culture and exercise intertwine to reflect the art of living in the South of France.

Among the treasures to be explored, the winegrowers of Collines du Bourdic have created an emblematic trail: the "Vignes, Vins et Patrimoine" discovery path . This signposted loop invites you to immerse yourself in the vineyards of the Appellation d'Origine Protégée Duché d'Uzès, punctuated by Mediterranean landscapes and breathtaking panoramas. Along the way, educational panels explain the winegrower's craft, the wealth of grape varieties and the distinctions that have made our wines famous - from AOP Duché d'Uzès to Indications Géographiques Protégées Gard, Cévennes and Pays d'Oc.

The route also passes through the village of Bourdic, a veritable gem of local heritage. Its alleyways conceal a XIIᵉ-century Romanesque church, an 1838 Protestant temple, a XVIIᵉ-century château, an ancient bridge, and even paleochristian burials dating back to the VIIᵉ century. Between historical heritage and wine-growing landscapes, the trail also runs along the course of the Bourdic, a discreet stream that joins the Gardon and brings welcome coolness to the vines on hot summer days.

This route is not just a stroll: it's an invitation to slow travel. Here, everything encourages you to slow down: walk without haste, listen to the wind in the olive trees, contemplate the light that settles on the stones, or linger in front of an explanatory panel. In July and August, bilingual guided tours take the experience even further: a guided walk in the morning, followed by a tour of the cellars and winery in the afternoon, for a behind-the-scenes look at the winemaking process. An ideal experience for families, wine lovers or the simply curious, thanks to an accessible itinerary (including with all-terrain baby carriages) and a comfortable duration of 1h45.

Hiking, wine tourism and heritage: the Collines du Bourdic trail is the perfect embodiment of the richness of the Uzège region. More than just a trail, it's a way of relearning how to take things slowly, savor the present moment and reconnect with nature's deepest rhythms.

And perhaps by taking it easy, you'll realize that there's no greater luxury than taking your time.
