Veni Vici trail presentation: the Pont du Gard race
The Veni Vici is much more than just a race: it's a sporting immersion through 2,000 years of history. Its name evokes Julius Caesar's famous phrase "Veni, Vidi, Vici", and this Pont du Gard race is its perfect incarnation.
The concept is simple: relive through trails what the Romans shaped, with a route linking three major sites of Roman antiquity: the Nîmes arenas, the Jardin de la Fontaine and the Pont du Gard Roman aqueduct.
The Veni Vici course offers an all-inclusive adventure, with courses for everyone: long-distance trail, walk, discovery hike, Nordic walk and even a family run.
The different routes of the Veni Vici 2026
For the 2026 edition, Veni Vici offers six routes suitable for all levels:
Trail Veni Vici 82 km
The longest and the most legendary. Leaving Nîmes in the early hours of the morning, this trail links the arena to the town ofUzès, via the Pont du Gard. A real challenge for experienced trail runners, with an altitude difference of + 2200 metres. A mythical finish line in Uzès for the most seasoned runners.
48 km race
An intermediate format, starting from the Nîmes Arena in the morning and finishing at the majestic Pont du Gard. Ideal for seasoned runners, with a 1250 m elevation gain and a demanding race profile.
27 km race
Starting from the Pont du Gard (left bank) and finishing in the heart of the town ofUzès, for those who want to experience the magic of the site without going all the way to Nîmes. With an altitude difference of +700, this is the ideal run for those who want to challenge themselves without exhausting themselves.
Nordic Walking 27 km
A timed Nordic walk starting from Vers-Pont-du-Gard (Pont du Gard left bank), through the garrigue and offering sublime panoramic views over the aqueduct to Uzès. With an early-morning start and a 700-meter climb.
16 km race
Accessible to all, this route takes in the Pont du Gard, starting on the left bank in the morning and finishing on the right bank. This moderately hilly course (420 D+) is perfectly suited to beginners and occasional runners. It's the perfect way to get started before, perhaps, taking on a bigger challenge in subsequent years.
13 km hike
Not just for sporty types, the Veni Vici trail is open to all, with this 13 km hike open to people aged 7 and over. Departure from the Pont du Gard on the left bank in the morning and arrival on the right bank.
Please note: All routes include an emblematic passage over the Pont du Gard - a magical moment to be experienced at the foot of the aqueduct, whatever the distance chosen.
