The Avignon Festival, one of the world’s largest theater and performing arts festivals, returns in 2025 for another edition brimming with emotion and artistic discoveries. The 80th edition of the Avignon Festival will take place from Saturday, July 4 to July 25, 2026

Founded in 1947 by Jean Vilar, the festival has become a national event in France. Tickets for shows can be purchased : 

We recommend reserving tickets as early as possible, as tickets for some shows can sell out quickly. Single-show prices range from €5 to €45.

Avignon is easily accessible by train, with regular connections from Paris, Lyon and other major French cities. Avignon's TGV train station is about 15 minutes by car from the city center, 6 minutes by TER and about 20 minutes by bus. Shuttles and buses are also available for getting around the city.

A number of parking lots are linked to the city center by free shuttle buses: Parking de l'île Piot, Parking des Italiens, Parking Courtine, Amandier. In case of lack of space, there are also paying parking lots: Parking Indigo, Parking Palais des papes, Parking Jean-Jaurès, Parking Mérindol, Parking de l'Oratoire, Parking des Halles.

To get around Avignon, it' s best to walk or bike, as during the Festival, cars are not allowed into the city center from 12pm to 2am. What's more, many of the Festival sites are within easy reach of each other. Bike rental services and bike parking are available.
