Inaugurated on June 2, 2018, the Museum of Romanity is opposite the Roman Arenas of Nîmes, witness to two thousand years of history.
In the historic heart of the city, this superb contemporary building shelters numerous collections of architectures of the Roman heritage representative of the life of yesteryear. The Museum is crossed by the remains of the Roman rampart and is designed as the gateway to an urban route. Its external appearance represents a mosaic in the form of a Roman toga. It is a building designed and created by the Franco-Brazilian architect Elizabeth de Portzamparc.
